Essentials for Riding
Mountain Bike (if you are hiring a bike - click here for info)
Helmet - see FAQs for more details on what sort is best
Eye Protection - much of the riding is in the forest so the option of clear/low light as well as sunglasses is ideal
Riding tops including a warm option or layers
Lightweight rain jacket suitable for cycling (in good weather you might not need it, but in bad weather, it will come into its own)
Long-sleeved thermal top in a waterproof bag (plastic zip locks work well). Again in good weather, you won’t need it but in bad weather, you will.

Mountain bike shoes
Cycle gloves
If you ride clip-ins and you are renting a bike, please bring your pedals and shoes (Rental bikes will come equipped with flat pedals)
Hydration backpack or waist pack (2L water capacity)
Spares including spare tube, tyre levers, multi-tool, pump
Small First Aid Kit including Emergency foil blanket/ space blanket, Triangular bandage & 2 x crepe bandages (suitable for snake bite) & adhesive dressing, Medical gloves
Personally preferred energy snacks for riding (electrolyte + energy bars)

1 x spare inner tubes specific for your tyre size (if renting these are provided)

All linen & indoor towels will be provided.
There are laundries including free washing machines, dryers and washing powder for the first 3 nights.
Sunscreen
Insect repellent
Personal toiletries & medication
Chamois creme
First-aid kit (ibuprofen, Panadol, band-aids, anti-bacterial ointment, tweezers, etc.)
Ear plugs and/or eye mask (for light sleepers)
Casual post-ride clothes (Tasmania can be hot or cold …. bring a variety including a good jumper or down jacket!)
Swimmers
Beach towel for outdoor swims, hot tubs & saunas
Swimming googles + swimming cap for the brave keen to join in some outdoor swims
Non-riding shoes including enclosed shoes suitable for short bush walks on outdoor trails.
A good book (or Kindle, iPad, etc.)
Thongs (some showers are shared).
Food / Snacks / Drinks
Most food is provided for the retreat as well as limited drinks. No alcoholic drinks are provided. (wine, beer etc). If we are heading to a remote area straight from the airport, your airport transfer will make a short stop at a supermarket and a bottle shop for you to pick up any specific personal snacks food or drinks you might like.
