Why South Coast?

Join our ultimate women’s mountain biking adventure to the stunning South Coast of NSW. This region offers a diverse range of trails, perfect for riders of all levels. We explore the gravity trails in Eden, featuring expertly designed descents through lush forests. You will enjoy the flowing and surfy berms in Narooma. Mogo's expansive trail network boasts scenic routes and the newly opened 28km Burnaaga-Goanna trail. These destinations blend natural beauty, expertly maintained trails, nearby pristine beaches and charming towns, ensuring an unforgettable mountain biking experience.

Each mountain bike destination on this tour—Mogo, Narooma and Eden —offers many riding opportunities, with trails that could keep you exploring for days or weeks. While we aim to sample some of the best riding these locations offer, our short time at each spot will only provide a glimpse into their full potential.

Like our other trips, we split into groups with guides and coaches so you can ride comfortably. We also allow time for optional skills lessons to help level up your riding.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Depart Canberra Ride Mogo

We’ll kick off the first day of your South Coast adventure by meeting at the Vibe Hotel, Canberra Airport, at 9:00 AM for a prompt 9:30 AM departure. If you need assistance to assemble your bike or park your car in long term parking, please plan to arrive a little earlier.

Our journey takes us on a scenic 2.5-hour drive to the charming township of Mogo. Here, you’ll have time to stretch your legs and enjoy some lunch before the afternoon's ride.

The rest of the day will be spent exploring Mogo’s incredible trail network, boasting over 60 km of tracks suited to all skill levels. Riders can choose between a cross-country loop or shuttled descents, depending on their preference. With the sun setting around 8:00 PM, there’s plenty of daylight to enjoy.

We’ll wrap up our final ride at the beautiful Foxdog Distillery, where we’ll relax over a well-earned dinner and drinks.

Afterwards, we’ll hop back on the bus for a 45-minute drive to our beachside accommodation in Narooma.

Day 2 - Ride Narooma

Today we ride locally in Narooma, a stunning coastal town and a must-visit destination for mountain bikers seeking scenic rides paired with a laid-back atmosphere. Nestled between the ocean and lush forests, Narooma features over 85 km of trails that showcase the natural beauty of Bodalla State Forest. The network offers a mix of flowing intermediate trails and more technical sections, making it ideal for riders who enjoy variety and adventure.

We'll kick off the morning by hitting the gravity zones of the park, using the local shuttle service to maximize our descent time while minimizing the climbs. Around midday, we’ll break for a scrumptious lunch at the trailhead, giving you time to refuel, relax, and soak in the surroundings.

In the afternoon, riders can choose their own adventure: either continue with more gravity laps for a thrill-filled session, or switch gears and explore one of the area’s spectacular wilderness trails, which wind deeper into the forest for a more remote, scenic ride.

Whether you're chasing speed or serenity, today offers something for everyone as we explore the diverse terrain of Narooma.

Day 3 - Ride Burnaaga (Goanna) Trail

Today we take on the epic, newly opened Burnaaga Trail—an unforgettable 29 km wilderness adventure that begins high atop the breathtaking summit of Mount Wandera. This isn’t just a ride; it’s a journey. Dropping 962 vertical metres through ancient forest and rugged terrain, Burnaaga is a trail that dives deep into the heart of the land, offering epic flow, raw natural beauty, and moments of pure exhilaration.

From the very first pedal stroke at the summit, the trail unfolds as a backcountry masterpiece, eventually guiding us to the warm welcome of Mogo township at its base.

To suit all levels, we’ll split into groups: those keen for the full descent from the top, and others who prefer to skip the steeper upper section and join us partway down for a more moderate ride.

This point-to-point adventure will take most of the day, with a well-earned lunch stop along the trail to refuel and take in the surroundings. We’ll regroup at the bottom in Mogo, sharing stories and high-fives after a day immersed in true South Coast wilderness.

Day 4 - Narooma to Eden: A Relaxed Transition

Today offers a more relaxed pace, giving you time to enjoy the beautiful surrounds of Narooma one last time. Start your morning with a beach walk or a leisurely coffee before we depart at 10:00 AM, heading south to our next destination: Eden.

It’s a scenic two-hour drive, with a delicious lunch stop at Longstocking Brewery—a perfect place to unwind and refuel before the next leg of the journey.

After checking into our centrally located accommodation in Eden, we’ll set out for a laid-back late afternoon ride on Eden’s local trails. This session is all about fun and flow, with time to explore and play at the incredible trailhead facilities, which offer something for every style of rider.

We’ll end the day with drinks and dinner in-house, soaking up the stunning views as we watch the sun set from the balcony—a perfect way to wind down and reflect on another great day of riding.

Day 5 - Ride Eden

Day five takes us to Eden, a destination that stands out for its diverse and gravity-focused trail network. The trails here cater to all riding styles, with smooth, fast-flowing sections for those who love to keep up the momentum and technical elements that challenge even experienced riders. What makes Eden particularly special is its location—set against the backdrop of lush state forests and the sparkling Sapphire Coast, every trail offers incredible scenery, from towering trees to glimpses of the ocean. The standout feature is the blend of gravity and cross-country trails, providing something for everyone while maintaining a strong connection to the natural environment.

  • Who is this trip suitable for?

The retreat offers flexibility to cater to riders with strong beginner, intermediate, and advanced skills. Depending on the group size, one or two guides may be available. Usually, a guide will either accompany less confident riders on easier trails or support at the end of the group on longer routes. The trip is designed to allow more confident riders to explore independently if they choose.

  • Is this a Women's Only Trip?

Certainly is! The trip is specifically designed for women, creating a safe and inclusive environment that fosters female empowerment. It offers a unique opportunity for women to connect, support each other, and embark on a journey of self-discovery and personal growth. So, yes, it is a women's only trip.

  • What are the skills lessons?

On most days, an hour or so will be set aside for a more traditional skills lesson for anyone who wants to participate. Our coaches will geek out with some theory and then put into practice a specific mountain bike skill. If lessons aren’t your thing, no problem. Just hit the trails either with one of the other guides or head off by yourself exploring.

  • Are there male and female guides and coaches?

This is a female-led trip, with most of our guides and coaches being women. We believe in creating an empowering and supportive environment for all participants. Depending on the specific trip, we may have male support staff who assist in the background with roles such as driving, cooking, bike maintenance, and occasional skills lessons. While these male staff members play an important part in the smooth running of the trip, they remain in support roles, ensuring the focus stays on the female-led experience.

  • What sort of a bike do I need?

For this trip, we think you will have a much better experience on a dual-suspension bike.

You must ensure your bike has been recently serviced and bring some spare parts. We will have staff with moderate bike mechanic skills along for the trip. Some of the destinations will have bike shops and support. As with all our trips, we are there if you need help building and packing your bike out of the bag/box you transport it in.

  • How do I book?

Head to our dates and inclusions page for details
